Artist

I have always been an Artist.
It is not what I do as much as who I am.
I have explored most media.
I worked for years only in black and white.
I work now to see color appear, whether it is with pencil or brush.
I do not choose my subject matter, it chooses me.
I work on a given subject until I am supposed to give it a rest.
I always come back to the subjects that matter.
Tiny details count for a lot.
Amusing the viewer does too.

Teacher

I played teacher with my friend Judy when I was a child.
I stopped for a long time when I was a young adult.
I came back to it as slightly less young adult.
I am a teacher now almost as much as I am an artist.
I also teach French.
Teaching is an underrated profession because people do not understand the process almost as much as they do not understand the process of Art.
Or perhaps they just do not want to understand either.
