Fish have always been prevalent in my images. My Zodiac sign guided me to a love of water and all the sea holds, its animals, fishes and plants. The colors and all that is hidden underneath the waves completes the circle of my fascination with layers and colors.

A Brief Description Of The Linoleum Printing Process

The image is cut with special tools into the surface of linoleum formulated for printing.
The ink is rolled on with a brayer, a tool resembling a small paint roller made of rubber.
A piece of Japanese rice paper is placed on top of the inked print, and pressure is applied with a wooden spoon (or tool made for this purpose), to the paper so the ink will be adhered consistently.
When the paper is removed, the image (in reverse) is visible.
In the reduction process, more linoleum is cut next and another color is applied. This process is repeated until all colors have been printed one on top of the other. The linoleum printing plate has subsequently been rendered unusable.
The jigsaw process involves cutting the original printing plate apart and inking each piece separately in a different color.
Each print shown here has been printed or "pulled" to use the proper terminology, by hand. It is possible to use a hand cranked press to apply the pressure, but I prefer the hands on approach of the wooden spoon method.
